Scrapbowl tag book

A Fiskateer friend asked me about the little tag book I made for the Scrapbowl and I realized that I didn't post the photos of the finished book. I used Fiskars USX and the frame template to cut several frames from colored cardstock. During the event I asked the celebs to sign the tags and later I added the pictures to the other sides of the tag.

Here is the tag with Shimelle's autograph.
And here is the other side of the same tag.

The frame template is one of my favorites! I need to thank Amy, fiskateer 1050 for the original idea. She made a cute travel minialbum using the frame shape. Her minialbum inspired me to use it for my tag book

The good, the bad and the ugly

Lots of good things to share!

My downloadable lesson for Fiskars is up!

I am totally excited about it. It was a lot of work to decide what's is the best way to showcase the technique I was using and keep in mind that I need to give instructions. It definitely changed the way I usually approach the layout. Great experience for me!
Here are some more pictures that were not included in the lesson. They show the use of USX template on top of the texture plate.

This layout was made for the Oh Scrap e-magazine founded by talented Debbie Buckland. The theme was Vision of Fabric. Before saying goodbye to my bathing robe I took the lace off and used it on a layout. The cream and red flowers are pieces of the same lace painted with acrylic paint.

And finally, I finished the huge project I was busy with - two heritage albums for my friend. Here is a sneak peak from album 1:

and album 2:

I will put a slideshow of all pages in few days.

The school is over in 3 days, we will have friends visiting from Maryland and I am far to be ready! That's bad!

Wet basements (we had only minimal damage), sewage in people homes, closed roads and that

That's just plain ugly! This year the weather is full of surprises....

Fiskars corner-border punch

The new punches are on my list of favorite tools! Tomorrow I am going to demo them at my LSS. I made few samples to show what you can do.

This card is made layering 4x4, 3x3 and 2x2 punched squares. Heidi Grace Midnight Kisses paper and stickles.

Layout with framed picture. All products are from Jenni Bowlin kits.

The next demo will by Sunday. I will be showing the USX tool - still need to make samples for that!

Cards

This one was made for my Fiskateer friend that is recovering from the surgery. I saw the card idea on the HeroArts blog and had fun putting it together. The stamps are from CTMH.

The next three cards are just few birthday cards I made for kids friends. Simple but cute! And great use of scraps. The butterfly wings are made using Fiskars squeeze punches.

This card was made as a store sample. Fiskars corner-border punch and USX.

The last one was a sample for the Certified Fiskars Demonstrators training.

It is June!

Already!
I can't believe how fast the summer had sneaked up on me. 10 more days the school will be over and the summer craziness will begin. I'd better be ready LOL

My blog was so lonely in May, just 2 posts. I'll try to do better this month. I have a lot of ideas for this blog, hope to work on some of them this summer :)

Meanwhile, here are some photos of my little princess. She went to a dress-up birthday party and came back with an impressive hair-do. I pulled out more than 30 clips from her hair next morning LOL

I did a lot of scrapping last month, not everything I can share yet. Here is a lo I did using May Fiskars sketch. The photos are 3 years old when Miss L was just 6.5. She had an adorable smile. She still has :) Most of the products are from Heidi Grace Only Time collection. I had some older HG daisy rub-ons that worked perfectly. The chipboard letters are by Heidi Swapp. Fiskars border bunch, of course. I believe I am addicted to them LOL

I am demoing the fiskars border-corner punch this Friday at my LSS. Of course I made few new projects to show. I will be taking few pictures later today and will post them today and tomorrow.

Baker's Dozen

I did a fun lo today for the Baker's Dozen challenge on fiskateers mb. I had to use 13 different products on one lo. It is about 10 more than I usually use LOL

1 - Transparency
2 - Circles
3 - Thickers
4 - Bling
5 - Ribbon
6 - Rub-ons
7 - 2 Patterned Papers
8 - Paper flower
9 - 6 or more brads
10 - Chipboard
11 - Buttons
12 - Rubber duck
13 - Flourish

I decided to jump on because I had this cute rubber duck brad. I bought it years ago, never used it and it was very close to be moved to the "garage sale" pile. Now it has a home in the middle of the lo - lucky duck!

Ah, Paris!

This album have reached his destination and now I can post some pictures. I didn't want to spoil the surprise :) It is 6x6 album with pictures from the trip to Paris my parents took last spring. I left the place for my mom to add the journaling. I know she will do it! I started this album way back in January, I am happy it is done finally!

This April we did something fun - we (well, I) decided to embrace Ofir's Moroccan heritage and to celebrated Mimoona! That means lot and lot of sweets and of course mufleta - it is a large crepe made just from flour and water. You eat it with butter and honey on top. It was the first time we tried to make it at home and it was so good! We invited 3 couple of friends that brought even more sweets and everybody had a great time. We will do it again next year! I will leave you with few yummy pictures from the Mimoona.

New habit

I am working on some new habits - organizing and printing my digital pictures every month.
Now an easy task with so many pictures on 2 computers. I am happy to say that March 2008 is done! All good pictures are uploaded to Picasa Web for my family to enjoy and I just need to order the prints. While working on my March pictures I found some projects that I didn't post.

The quilt below is one of the Scrapbowl projects. It was a class taught by Shimelle .
The pictures are printed on the white cardstock and than quilted together with painted squares of cardstock. I was able to sew it in the class, so at home I just had to put some finishing touches and fit it into the frame.

The next one is a birthday card for a very cute boy

This is 8x8 lo I did for the A Year To Remember yahoo group lo swap. I am curious to see what layouts I will receive.

I also did another charm swap organized by Michelle

I decided to try the shrinky dinks. The blue charms are stamped with a stamp by Paula Best, the white charms are punched out with Martha Stewart punch. All charms are colored with the colored pencils. It was a lot of work but I think they are cute :)

I am busy

preparing for my last 2 Fiskars trainings - one Thursday morning at my house and another one Saturday at Fiskars HQ! I and very excited about this one. I love Madison and always thought it would be so much fun to see the Fiskars HQ. I made a lot of cards as samples for the trainings. I will need to take some pictures. Here are my 2 latest layouts.

Every year we go to GE Holiday Party. I wanted to get some nice pictures of the girls but as usual Miss E did funny faces, so that's what we have. This is done with Jenni Bowlin Dec kit, some MM glitter letters and Fiskars border punch.

This is one of my favorites photos from our summer trip to Israel. I embossed the picture with Fiskars texture plate, sanded the embossing and added tiny white pearls. All papers and embellishments are from Jenni Bowlin February kit. This is 8.5x11 layout, an unusual size for me. It will go to my Photos I Love album.
