June layouts

Just few layouts from June that I didn't post yet.

This one is using a sketch from Twisted Sketches. The twist was to use ribbon. I used white sheer wired ribbon under the picture and some Making Memories green ribbon to make the handmade flowers.

This layout is using the sketch from Inspired Blueprints. It is my first layout with machine stitching. Jenni Bowlin kit with some addons.

More Jenni Bowlin papers and Fiskars star punches.

2 old T-shirts -> 2 cute pillows

June challenge at Mixim is re-purposed projects. I went to my "really don't want to throw it away but don't need it" pile and pulled out 2 t-shirts that Lila received at ice skating competitions in 2006 and 2007. Few hours later I had 2 cute little pillows. I forgot to take the pictures of the T-shirts but here is a picture of Lila wearing one of them 3 years ago.

And here are the pillows.

10 happy things (summer 2007)

2 years ago I made this layout for a circle journal. I still had the duplicates of all pictures so I decided to make the same layout for myself.Few things that I changed: the format now is 12x12 and not 8x8 like the original, the paper choice is different, I used stickers for the title and not stamps. I added a punched border on the top of the pictures (click to enlarge)

Few other things that changed in the past 2 years: the 7th picture is a picture of me holding my newborn nephew. Since than I had my own baby. My Brookstone slippers are gone and they don't make them anymore.

Few Random Things

* Last Sunday Lila, Eli and I went to the American Girl doll warehouse sale. The sale was in Oshkosh, so it was quite a trip. We also spent some time in the local outlet mall. We didn't find any special bargains, the American Girl stuff wasn't that exciting. We bought few toys for Eli, PJ and some books for Lila and something for me.
This is for me! I always wanted to buy one of those fancy Barbie dolls and now I have one. :-)
$12 at the warehouse sale. Now the question - should I take it out of the box or keep it in the box?? I'll have to think about it.

* While reading Donna's newsletter last week I noticed that she will be in Israel later this year. She is coming to My Scrap and Fun event. This is really awesome and a great opportunity for Israeli scrapbookers. I took a class with Donna last February and had so much fun. I was thinking that I would like to take one of her new fabric scrapbooking classes and....

* Today I saw an email from my LSS that Donna is coming to teach 4 classes Labor Day weekend. Yippee! I hope to take at least one. I promise to ask her how did she like teaching in Israel :)

* Fiskateers are having a huge giveaway. You could win this baby! Here is a challenge #1 and #2. There is still time to join. If you are not Fiskateer, that's the time to sign up :) If you are on the fence and have questions about being a Fiskateer, let me know!

* Here is another reason to join - next weekend Kids Crafts Fiskamittee (Amy and me) will host an online crop. We planned fun challenges and giveaways. Free few hours on Friday or Saturday (or both!) and come play with us.

* The last one for today. I was asked to be a Guest designer this months at Scrappy Times. They have a scrapbook competition. Every DT member is hosting a challenge based on one of the Suzi Blu's videos As a Guest Designer I will also host a challenge and I picked this video. My layout is already done and I will post it after my challenge goes live.

So, what do we have? Very long post and not pictures. That's not so good. Let's fix it.

Just a few recent layouts. And that's all for today :)

Here is the first color combo
I didn't have the Stampin' Up products but I tried to match the colors as close as I could.

Eli's calendar - 4th, 5th and 6th months

I decided to limit the products I am using for the calendar, to keep it simple and consistent. I picked the Animal Crackers line by Making Memories as a base. I added some Kraiser Crafts rub-ons, Fiskars stamps and punches and Heidi Grace letters. I need to print more index size photos and complete the 7th and 8th months now.

Eli's calendar - first 3 months

I knew I want to do this long before Eli was born - a calendar to document his first year. A place to write down all his "firsts" and to capture all little moments that disappear with time. I even decided on products I will be using and made the first page before Eli's birth. So untypical for me LOL

8 months passed and I am proud to say that I am keeping up with my project. (Another untypical thing). The calendar is hanging above Eli's changing table. I keep a journaling pen close and try to write down few words every few days. Few months ago I printed a bunch of index size photos and completed the calendar pages with stamping, little photos and some embellishments. Here are the first 3 months:
