Twisted sketch #60

My last layout for Twisted Sketches. I decided not to apply to DT this time, I have too many unfinished projects to do and to many plans in my head. I had a blast working with Anam's sketches. I know it will always be my go-to site for fun sketches and inspiration.

The twist was this sketch was "Joy". I used an old picture of Lila, grinning at the camera. She was such a happy baby. The orange piece is a part of Gymboree mailing that I kept in my "things I maybe want to use one day" basket.

Supplies: cardstock (Core'dinations), patterned paper (Pink Paislee, Martha Stewart), letter stickers (Basic Grey), tag stickers (Pink Paislee), flowers (big - unknown, small - American Crafts), green pen (American Crafts), felt branch (Prima Marketing), jewels (Recollections), raindots (Cloud 9)

I am going to sign off now because today I am going to CHA Super Show. I don't have anything ready yet except my hotel reservations. I will take my laptop and will plan to post tonight from the hotel room but can't promise anything. Is there something you want me to check while I am there? A day and a half in Chicago by myself..... I can't wait!

Tuesday Trio #27

I am happy to share that I joined the Tuesday Trio Design Team! Tuesday Trio is a bi-lingual (Hebrew and English) challenge blog. Every week you can find a new sketch to get your creative juices flowing. I am very excited about an opportunity to design for an Israeli blog and to expose the Israeli scrapbookers to my friends and my blog readers. So without further ado, here is what I made based on the last Tuesday Trio sketch. The challenge for this sketch is to use color green. I made mostly green layout (I had to use the red ribbon for the splash of red), and mostly green card. For both of them I used Pink Paislee papers.

I had 2 identical sheets of paper, so I cut the tree from one sheet of paper and layered it on the top of the tree in the background paper. I also cut some flowers and layered them with pop dots. I love this Martha Stewart butterfly sticker with double wings. I used several of them already.

Supplies: patterned paper (Pink Paislee), journaling tag (Martha Stewart), letter stickers (Doddlebug, Making Memories), ribbon (Unknown), butterfly (Martha Stewart)

The card is made based on the same sketch.

Supplies: patterned paper (Pink Paislee), stamp (Fiskars), ribbon (unknown)

Check the beautiful card that Dailly made for this challenge. What are you going to make?

Twisted sketch #56

The twist for the sketch was "Red". I love this picture of Eli, taken at the zoo few months ago. He definitely doesn't look like he comes in peace :) I added the title Do You? directly to the picture in Picasa. I used several chipboard stars as masks and sprayed the background with the glimmer mist

Supplies: Cardstock (unknown), patterned paper (Scenic Route, Crafting Jewish Style), paint (Making Memories), chipboard stars (unknown), circle punches (Fiskars), stamps (Technique Tuesday), pen (Sakura), colored pencils (Staedtler)

The picture of my layout for sketch #58 is on a hard drive somewhere at my husband's office so stay tuned for that!

Twisted Sketches #52 and #54

I am working on my last sketch for the Twisted Sketches and I realized that I never posted my last 4 layouts. Here is the layout based on sketch #52. The twist here was "chipboard". I had those Maya Road chipbaord knots for ages. They were perfect for this Irish themed layout. I sprayed them with blue and green paint to match the colors of the pictures and the papers.

Supplies: cardstock (unknown), patterned paper (Rusty Pickle), chipboard (Maya Road), jewels (Zva Creative), stamp (Scrappy Cat), flower (Petaloo), brad (K&Company), letter stickers (Scenic Route), blue pen (Sakura), paint (Honig, Plaid)

This layout is based on sketch #54 with the twist "bold". I decided to go with the bold colors.
I punched the flowers from the patterned paper, inked the edges with black ink and covered them with a layer of multi-meduim. As they dried the petals curled up. I made little balls from the pipe cleaners for the centers of 2 flowers - the same pipe cleaners that Eli holds in the picture.
Supplies: patterned paper (Crafting Jewish Style), circle tag (Crafting Jewish Style), flower punch (Fiskars), grungeboard letters (Tim Holtz), chipboard letters (Heidi Swapp), glimmer mist (Tattered Angles), ink (Brilliance), raindots (Cloud 9), glodd multi-medium (Claudine Helmuth), other (pipe cleaners)

2 more layouts to share tomorrow.

Look mom, I am published!

Yes, it is true! When we came back home I had a package waiting for me. Two of my layouts came back from UK. They were published in the ScrapBook Inspirations Ideas Book
I didn't have time to go over the whole magazine (it is thick!) but from what I saw it is full of great layouts and all kinds of inspiration. I am so honored that Shimelle picked up my layouts. I think that those 2 layouts truly represent my style so it feels good.

And we are back!

Actually we came back last Saturday. The flight from Italy was delayed, one of our suitcases was lost (and found the next day), almost all of use got some type of sickness on the way home and I spent this week between the sick baby that refused to eat and drink and driving Lila back and forth to the ice skating camp. That was a long way to say that I couldn't find even 15 minutes to reunite with my scrapbooking desk. So now we have 5 weeks without scrapbooking. I really hope for some "me" time this weekend!

I probably will never find time to catch up on all emails and blogs in my Google reader. I probably should just delete them. But I did notice few things.
- Big Picture Scrapbooking is having a fun free class this August. I signed up course. Come on, it's free!
- Terrific tutorial on Scrap That Baby - how to make your own stencils from photographs. And while you are there don't forget to check the latest challenge All Around Nursery You could win a cute scrapbooking kit.
- New series of Shoot-Along posts of Giver's Log. Looks interesting
- New Tuesday Trio sketch is up. The winner of the challenge with be invited to be a guest designer for the upcoming challenge. I love that this blog is in Hebrew and English so everyone can play.

Ah, I can hardly believe that just a week ago we were here:

This blog is on vacation

If you are still checking this blog (and thank you if you do) I wanted to let you know that I am on vacation with my family. We are visiting our families and Israel and trying to soak up every moment. I hoped that I will be able to update my blog from Israel but after 2.5 weeks of attempts to create a post I decided to give up. So for now I will leave you with few pictures and I promise much more later.
