The butterfly and the prince

Last night I had a lot of fun playing with this beautiful picture of my niece and with gorgeous pinks and greys from Jenni Bowlin January kit. I took a chipboard butterly, put it under the cardstock and sanded to expose the butterfly shape. Repeat several times.

I doodled on top of the grey patterned paper with pink suffle pen.

Love being a Fiskateer

Last Wednesday I had the most wonderful time. A group of Fiskateers was going to the Fiskars warehouse sale in Wausau. On the way to Wausau they planned to stop at Fiskars HQ. While I couldn't join them for the sale (4 hours each way is just too much for a trip with the baby) I decided to join them for the Fiskars HQ tour. The fact that Merlene was flying in from Tucson, AZ tipped the scale in favor of going. I wanted to see my Nifty Fifty buddy.

When I arrived to the parking lot I was greeted by wonderful Betsy, her lovely daughter Winter, Merlene and Kim (Nice to meet you Kim!). Betsy gave me Fiskars goody bag (more on that later). I put Eli that just woke up in the stroller and we went in. Of course I forgot my camera in the car, so no pictures from me, but the tour was AMAZING! I already saw the HQ but on the weekend when it was empty. Stephenie spent TWO hours with us, showing every corner and cubicle. We spoke to the project managers and engineers, saw new products and prototypes and took pictures with the giant scissors :) What can I say, I was again blown away how serious Fiskars takes their customers. It's an amazing place.... Oh, did I mention the goody bags we got from Fiskars?

When I came home I opened the orange bag that Betsy gave me. Oh my, tons of cute stuff and the cutest charm bracelet. Thank you Betsy so much!

Merlene made this adorable pendant in Fiskars colors. Isn't it gorgeous? Check her awesome fiskateers business card. I need make some for myself!

Rosh HaShanah swap

This month I was part of the Rosh HaShanah (Jewish New Year) swap at the Israeli scrapbooking forum (yes, there is such thing). The swap requirements were to send a card and a small handmade gift. Here is mine:

This is an iris folding card (one of my favorite techniques!) made using handmade paper.

For the gift I picked up a small album at Michaels. I liked the red color and the fact that I can turn it upside down and the cover still looks ok. (We read in Hebrew from right to left).
I altered the cover using the cute apple stamp from Imaginisce, doodlebug buttons, Fiskars punches and letters in Hebrew that I found on my trip to Israel 2 years ago.

Back to school

Yes, it finally happened. The summer is officially over and the girls went back to school. The both started new schools this year since we moved to another school district. Here is my 6th grader. The middle school starts earlier and we didn't have lots of time for the pictures. She almost missed the bus that came few minutes earlier LOL

Here is my 3rd grader. It is the first time the girls are not riding the same bus.

They both were nervous but both had a good day at school already made some new friends.

As for me, I also hope to get back in schedule, establish some routine for Eli and have at least some time to update my blog more than once a month LOL
I did scrapbook this months but just didn't have time to upload. I will start uploading this week so stay tuned :)

This week I was a guest designer for Twisted Sketches blog.
After I submitted the layout I made some changes so here is the version B of the same layout. The twist was to use pop dots. The butterflies, the photo corner and the inner part of paisley are raised with pop dots. Supplies: Basic Grey paper and letter stickers, Anna Griffin journaling card, Fiskars butterfly punch and scallop trimmer blade

State Fair 2008

I made this quick mini album using a recipe (sketch) posted on Write.Click.Scrapbook All products are from Jenni Bowlin February 09 kit. The album is 8x6. I plan to mount the pages to the chipboard and bind them with my bind-it-all (as soon as I find it)

2 new layouts

I finished that one today. My scrap space doesn't exist yet so I just pulled out the folder with my Jenni Bowlin kits and few essentials and made that. The picture is from March 2006 - I tooks this picture of Ella's shoes that she used in preschool just before they went to the trash. She loved them :) I used sketch #8 from Twisted Sketches. Jenni Bowlin patterned paper, Prima flowers, BG chipboard letters and some bling. I left the chipboard bare, love how it matches the worn toes :)

This layout I made last week for the challenge at Jewish Scrapbooking forum. The challenge was to use orange, blue and green colors. I think I nailed it with the colors LOL Again, Jenni Bowlin kits - I used pieces from April and June kits.

We moved....

Last Wednesday we moved into our new house. We have been moving stuff for weeks now and when Ofir asked what truck to order I told him that we sure don't need the big one because we moved so much things already. 3 hours I thought and we should be done....

At 10am Ofir came with a truck and the first box went in.

11 (yes, eleven) hours later the last piece of furniture was took out of the truck. Yeah. We had to go twice and both times the truck and my minivan were full. We still had few boxes left that we took the next day when we came back to clean the old house and give the keys. How much stuff a family of 4 and the baby can have ??? Something is wrong here LOL

We are so grateful for great friends Avi and Haim that came and helped with the move. We certainly couldn't do that without them. Now it's just us and the boxes...

I did manage to make a layout today and I will be posting it later today.
