I am back from Chicago... the only thing I can say... WOW ... again WOW. It was incredible experience! I am so glad I had a chance to go! I spent most of my time there in Fiskars booth demoing the new tools but still I could feel the energy and excitement in the air. It was so much fun!

My trip to CHA started few weeks ago when I made those tags. They were for Heidi Grace and Amy from Cloud 9 to sign during the show. The paper used on my tags is from the newest Cloud 9 Valentine collection. So cute!


I was leaving for CHA Friday afternoon but in the morning I was able to host a challenge on Fiskateers message board. The challenge was part of the Virtual CHA Online crop. My challenge was to cross something off your crafting "to-do" list. I played along also and finally used a little rollerskates embellishment that I bought about 2 years ago to scrapbook Lila's 8th birthday party. I used the Fiskars July sketch, again :) It feels good to have it done. Now I am just one year behind on her birthday parties LOL

20 minutes after I posted the winner of my challenge I was on my way to Chicago. I gave myself plenty of time to get their and it was a great idea because of the Friday traffic and the road construction. I pulled into the restaurant parking lot just in time for the Fiskateers dinner. It was awesome to see familiar faces and meet some new friends.

After the dinner I went to the hotel and met Jenna. I am so glad she was my roommate - she is such a nice and fun person! For some strange reason I wasn't tired yet, so I finished crocheting my little flowers that I made for the fiskateers leads. Aren't they cute? I can't stop making them now LOL
The next morning I started my first day at CHA. I had some free time to browse around but wasn't really prepared for that so I just walked between the booths without any defined purpose LOL Everybody said it will be overwhelming and it was :) At 1pm I came back to the Fiskars booth and started my 4 hours of demo. I was showing the new Push and Print Stamp Factory , new fingertip tools, trimmers, punches and everything else people wanted to see. By the end of the day I was so tired standing on my feet the whole day and talking that going out for dinner wasn't an option. I went back to my hotel, had dinner at the hotel restaurant and finished the day with tiramisu in bed.
Not a bad day if you ask me :)


The next day was even better. Again, I had 2 hours in the morning to browse around and then 5 hours of demo. I asked for a chair and it was much much better. I took some pictures that I will put in the slideshow. But here are my favorites.

And my show hightlight - Heidi Swapp stopped by and I showed her the new Fiskars tools. I think Ted (the tall guy behind me) was very amused seeing how excited I was. I hope I didn't embarrass myself too much LOL She loved the new PPT and the Stamp Factory. She even tried it with her own stamps. I also showed her the USX and she just loved it. She even took one with her to Beijing.

My personal show favorites were the new Fiskars tools - stamp factory, the new personal trimmer and scallop punches, Heidi Grace paper lines, Chatterbox, new paints, brushes and sticky canvas by Claudine Helmuth, Anna Grifin (they didn't allow pictures in the booth), new grungeboard shapes.

Not less than seeing the new products I enjoyed meeting my old and new friends - the leads, Fiskars people, fiskateers that I trained, my friends from the message board, I can't even count them all. Did I say already that it was incredible experience?

Wooo Whooo - 3 layouts in one evening!

This is very unusual for me! :) I didn't scrapbook just for fun such a long time. I always plan to play after the girls go to bed but than I am just too tired. So yesterday morning I printed a bunch of pictures from 4th of July two years ago and was ready to play by 6 pm. I started with Fiskars July sketch and some Reminisce paper and added some grungeboard letters covered by two layers of ink and CTMH liquid glass. I wanted to give some dimension so I popped some of the picture squares with one or two layers of pop-dots.

I still had a lot of pictures from the same event. I printed the picture of the Ferris wheel on my home printer and pulled another quick layout together. Most of the products here come from Jenni Bowlin kit. I just added a piece of cheap ribbon - probably from Target dollar spot.

And than I had this picture of Miss E. riding the kiddie roller coaster. The picture was blurry but I liked it so much that I decided to make a layout for my Photos I Love album. All products here are from Heidi Grace "Only Time" collection. Love how it turned out!



Tomorrow is her 7th birthday party. It will be a busy day! My little baby is 7.....

I can;t believe that my last post was a month ago. The summer is going FAST! I have a lot to share but I just HAD to post this link to the new ROCK, PAPER, TRIMMER by Fiskars.

Isn't it amazing or what??

Scrapbowl tag book

A Fiskateer friend asked me about the little tag book I made for the Scrapbowl and I realized that I didn't post the photos of the finished book. I used Fiskars USX and the frame template to cut several frames from colored cardstock. During the event I asked the celebs to sign the tags and later I added the pictures to the other sides of the tag.

The frame template is one of my favorites! I need to thank Amy, fiskateer 1050 for the original idea. She made a cute travel minialbum using the frame shape. Her minialbum inspired me to use it for my tag book

I am totally excited about it. It was a lot of work to decide what's is the best way to showcase the technique I was using and keep in mind that I need to give instructions. It definitely changed the way I usually approach the layout. Great experience for me!

Here are some more pictures that were not included in the lesson. They show the use of USX template on top of the texture plate.

This layout was made for the Oh Scrap e-magazine founded by talented Debbie Buckland. The theme was Vision of Fabric. Before saying goodbye to my bathing robe I took the lace off and used it on a layout. The cream and red flowers are pieces of the same lace painted with acrylic paint.

And finally, I finished the huge project I was busy with - two heritage albums for my friend. Here is a sneak peak from album 1:

The school is over in 3 days, we will have friends visiting from Maryland and I am far to be ready! That's bad!

Fiskars corner-border punch

The new punches are on my list of favorite tools! Tomorrow I am going to demo them at my LSS. I made few samples to show what you can do.



This card is made layering 4x4, 3x3 and 2x2 punched squares. Heidi Grace Midnight Kisses paper and stickles.

Cards

This one was made for my Fiskateer friend that is recovering from the surgery. I saw the card idea on the HeroArts blog and had fun putting it together. The stamps are from CTMH.

The next three cards are just few birthday cards I made for kids friends. Simple but cute! And great use of scraps. The butterfly wings are made using Fiskars squeeze punches.

This card was made as a store sample. Fiskars corner-border punch and USX.

The last one was a sample for the Certified Fiskars Demonstrators training.

It is June!

Already!
I can't believe how fast the summer had sneaked up on me. 10 more days the school will be over and the summer craziness will begin. I'd better be ready LOL

My blog was so lonely in May, just 2 posts. I'll try to do better this month. I have a lot of ideas for this blog, hope to work on some of them this summer :)

Meanwhile, here are some photos of my little princess. She went to a dress-up birthday party and came back with an impressive hair-do. I pulled out more than 30 clips from her hair next morning LOL

I did a lot of scrapping last month, not everything I can share yet. Here is a lo I did using May Fiskars sketch. The photos are 3 years old when Miss L was just 6.5. She had an adorable smile. She still has :) Most of the products are from Heidi Grace Only Time collection. I had some older HG daisy rub-ons that worked perfectly. The chipboard letters are by Heidi Swapp. Fiskars border bunch, of course. I believe I am addicted to them LOL






I am demoing the fiskars border-corner punch this Friday at my LSS. Of course I made few new projects to show. I will be taking few pictures later today and will post them today and tomorrow.
