Two layouts about the boy and one question to my readers (actually three)

Lately everything on this blog was about the girl. It is time to share something about the boy. I love spending my days with him, although it usually means that I can get nothing done. He is the sweetest little guy. He is also stubborn, whiny and sometimes even naughty 2.5 year old toddler.

I made this layout for the sketch contest at my LSS. I found the sketch challenging but I pull it through. Mainly Basic Grey here with some new Crate Paper stickers.

I cut out the diamond border form the paper and layered few diamonds using dimensional adhesive.
Supplies: patterned paper (Basic Grey, Collage Press), stickers (Crate Paper), letter stickers (Basic Grey), buttons (My Mind's Eye)

I made this layout using a sketch from Little Yellow Bicycle blog. Everything here except the small letter stickers is from their Twig collection.

I have to confess that this "tea party" was completely staged. Eli was playing with the cars on the deck outside. I wanted to make a layout with title "Friends". I grabbed Dipsy and few things from the play kitchen and asked Eli if he wants to feed Dipsy. I was surprised that he happily spent the next 15 minutes fully engaged in the role play. I need to do that more often!

Supplies: patterned paper, chipboard, stickers (Little Yellow Bicycle), letter stickers (Basic Grey)

Today I started a new class - Beyond Blogging for Scrapbookers taught by fabulous Shimelle. Our first prompt was about getting to know our readers. I think I have some idea about who are my readers (Hi, mom!) but it will be lovely to hear from you. If you have few moments I would love you to leave me a comment saying who are you and how did you find my blog. And if you have another minute to spare I will be curious to know what do you scrapbook about. When I think about my layouts, it is clear that 99% of them are about my kids. It will probably stay that way for a while, although it will be really nice to scrapbook our trips and vacations that we took in the past.

Speaking of kids, it is time to think about dinner. Have a great week!
Happy Passover to all who celebrate!

  2. I first came to your blog thru BFS. I used to mostly scrap vacations, christmas, etc. But my girls are teens/young adults and not willing to be in photos anymore. So right now most of my scrapping is introspective and about me.

  5. Hi there! I've come to you via the forum over at Shimelle's!
My kids are grown up now and not so keen to pose for photos for me but I still manage to get them into a lot of scrapbook pages. I tend to always have at least one person in the photos I use, but like to do some travel layouts too.

  7. Hi Maya! I can't quite remember what class I first met you in... was it BFS the first time?? :) Most of my pages are about my husband and I, and our extended family and friends. By the way, the love the colors in your newest LOs.

  8. Hi! Gorgeous LOs! I came over here from Shimelle's class, also.

I have a 13-year-old daughter who is a total ham, so most of my scrapbooking is about her. I'm not a chronological scrapper, so I usually just grab some random photos that inspire me!

  9. Hi, I also came first through BFS and now BBFS. When I started scrapping it was all about my niece (like Shimelle, I'm a scrapper with no kids), now days though it's mostly about my partner and I and mostly our travels (mostly just because we've been traveling for so long!)... That's a lot of mostly's!!

  12. Hello Maya, I've been visiting here since BFS - first time round! I like to visit your blog because of your wonderful scrapping! I also like to see/hear about your sweet family and see stuff about other lovely projects you do - eg. decorating boxes, making cards etc.
I scrap about family, friends, life things, pets... whatever takes my fancy at the time!
Now I really need to go and read today's BBFS prompt...

  13. Hi Maya, thanks for visiting me x My only scrapping is my 365 project, I am doing a page with 7 photos on it each week. I will also copy the journalling from my blog post and put it with the pages when I have them printed. Thats the plan anyway. I came by you from BBfS & your comment on my blog. I will return!

  16. Hello! Love your pretty pages ... Especially that top one. :) Clever work with the role=play for a photoshoot! I scrapbook about all kinds of things: family, events, life, feelings, memories ...

  17. I found your blog originally from BFS.

Mostly I scrap the boys, or their toys. The dinos & clones have more pages about them than my husband does.

Of course, they are a heck of a lot easier to photograph too.

Lately I have been doing layouts about me.

  18. I found your blog through BFS last year. I scrap about lots of things - me, dear hubby, our nieces & nephews, holidays, travels, stories I want to preserve, my favorite color . . . really just about anything is fair game these days. BTW - your layouts are great!

  20. I'm a scrapper from Israel.
I actually don't remember how I found your blog, but I'm glad I did!
I usually make cards, but I recently finished my first 30X30 album - a present for my father for his 60th b-day.

  21. Hello! :) I'm Veronica, I found your blog via Fiskateers (I'm 1135!) and I typically make pages about my pets, my husband, and my travels. I also do pages about my nephews and nieces, family events, and my friends and their pets and/or their kids. I also have loads of old pics (from when I was little to daggereotypes!) I've been working on. I like to think of my scrapbooks as elaborate journals, so there's no topic I won't scrap about.

P.S. I always enjoy your blog! Your layouts today are especially cute. Your son has beautiful eyes...my little brother had the saame deep brown eyes when he was little (he's 10 years younger than me, so I remember his early years well.)

  22. Hi Maya, I think I found you through BFS the first time round.

I do scrap my kids, but also the little things in life and stuff about when I was little. I'm not really an events scrapper.

  24. Hi Maya ~ First, I'd like to say that your layouts are awesome! Secondly, I've "seen you around" in our blog-world, and this time I landed on your blog by clicking a link in the comment you left on Lizzie's blog.

Seems I rarely do scrapbook layouts anymore, but when I do it's usually a page about my young niece or nephew. I do a lot of mini-books myself. Your blog is lovely! xo

  25. Love your layouts.

I found you from Crafting Jewish Style. I also always meant to tell you in a comment that my husband is from Milwaukee, so I have spent lots of time there.

I usually scrap about my kids, but lately, as I've started to do some DT work, I am scrapping about myself, my husband, and extended family more than I ever used to. I guess, because I am scrapping more than I used to, now that there are "deadlines." I like that.

And I scrap about 90% my kids..the rest dumb little stuff...we hardly ever take vacations so it's mostly just kids.

  30. I love that little house - so cute! I want to scrap more about me or the more mundane stuff as I think it will be good to look back on but with a stack of photos of the children calling me I can't see me doing it anytime soon!

  31. Hi Maya--
I found you through Fiskateers. I love to read your blog, but I must admit blog reading has been on the bottom of my to-do list (that is why I'm answering your questions almost a month after you posted). 4 kids has me scrapping about them mostly...no time for anything else! Those pictures of your daughter skating are great...fabulous job scrapping them.
